How to use GeoVision’s Remote ViewLog Feature in Control Center V2

Good afternoon and welcome to ApexCCTV’s tutorial on GeoVision’s Remote Viewlog on the GeoVision Center V2 System. Getting to remote view log this way is the exact same as if using it locally on the DVR or over a web browser. The advantage over being physically at the machine, is that you don’t have to be at it, it can be anywhere in the world and still reach the video logs. With CV2 you don’t need to remember all the IP addresses no need to deal with advanced security tab, you don’t even need to log on as an administrator, since this is installed by default with the Center V2 software. You can keep your machine secure and log your users in as standard users as they should be and they can still view their DVRs.

Under control center open the host list, then whatever list you have your DVR in and then right click on the DVR. Right click on the DVR and select remote view log. First it’s going to do is grab the database and load all the files available for playback. Once it’s ready it’ll pull up the most recent event captured by camera 1. You can click play or select a quad view with a longer time period, and click play. All 4 cameras will play simultaneously, in my example I turned a light on around 7 and if I play this you can see me moving around the office from camera to camera. We can also do this with a multiview, which shows all 16 cameras, it will warn you about bandwidth, which shouldn’t be a problem for me because I’m on a local network with all my cameras.

Here you can see I have 4 cameras recording movement, and you can see me walking through, the two with the tree are on a lot since they move fairly often. That’s the basic overview of the remote Viewlog software. You can also back this up to a DVD or hard drive, jump drive or pretty much any back up device you can think of. There are quite a few options you have when looking at the remote Viewlog.

This has been a basic overview and thank you for watching this ApexCCTV video tutorial.
