Welcome to the Apexcctv tutorial on setting up Active X controls in IE for use with our AVerMedia and GeoVision DVRs. We will start by launching internet explorer and then going to tools internet options click on the security tab choose trusted sites then click on custom levels button. Once the next window opens scroll down to the Active X control section. Enable all the Active X controls except for only allow approve domains if you are running Internet Explorer 8 with GeoVision 8.3.0 or newer disable the item only allow approved domains to use the Active X controls without prompt. The second are any items that are highlighted with recommended next to prompt or disabled. You can leave those at default; once that is configured click on ok. Next with trusted sites still selected at the top, select the sites button under there and enter the IP addresses of the DVRs you will be connecting to. You can also add address web URLs such as mydvr@dvr.dns.com if you set up dynamic DNS. Make sure you uncheck the “require server verification box” before you click add. Click add and then you can click close and ok and you should be able to connect to your DVR. If you see a yellow bar when you connect to your DVR, click on the yellow bar and tell it to allow Active X to run on all sites. This concludes our look at Active X configuration on Internet Explorer. Look for more helpful videos on apexcctv.com.
