How to Configure GeoVision’s Control Center V2 to Connect to GeoVision DVRs

Good afternoon and welcome to ApexCCTV’s tutorial on how to configure a GeoVision DVR to connect to a GeoVision Center V2 System. I’ll load the Center V2 System and starts off looking like this. On the top left there’s a button called host list if you hover over it. Click that and it will show a list of all our host devices. There are 4 different types of device we can use, the normal GeoVision DVR the compact DVR, GeoVision’s nice new Linux based DVR, you should check them out they are very nice, and of course the IP cameras and video servers which have been out for a while now.

In this case we are adding a host DVR and I’ll add it to my host list rather than any other list. We’ll click this and then add a host DVR and this is quite simple, we’re going to give it a name, something human friendly it doesn’t have to be correct just something for you to reference it by. The address is just a DNS resolvable name or an IP address. Next add your id and password to login. I already have the ports set up on the DVR, they are using the default, command port is 3388 data is 5611 and log is 5552. The DVR has 16 cameras, and now we can just click ok and everything is set up now.

The GeoVision DVR is now in our host list and now I can go and right click and go to live view. Or I can login to the remote DVR, which is the interface to the DVR as if I were sitting at the DVR. There’s a myriad of other features, such as matrix views logging in and checking services but we’ll get into those in other training videos.

Thank you for watching ApexCCTV’s video tutorial.
